Additional Hoist Added to our Hoist Fleet

We are proud to add an additional hoist to our hoist fleet.

We always ask for feedback from our guests. This includes what we have done well, which is great, but what also really helps us is how we can improve. Sometimes the suggestion is small such as folding drainers or a replacement cheesegrater, other times it is a bit bigger. We can’t always action every suggestions, but where it is possible, we do.

Following feedback from a recent guest about our mobile hoist height, we did some research to see if we could help in the future and also to help other guests. Lifting from a higher wheelchair required the hoist to go higher than our Oxford or Molift. Without the extra height, it is not possible to lift the person from the chair. Overhead hoists don’t have this issue, but as we don’t have an overhead hoist, what is the next best option for us?

After researching the options, and also going and physicallty measuring the maximum height, we decided on the Liko Golvo 7007. The Golvo can be used in most lifting situations including:

a. Between bed and a wheelchair

b. To and from the toilet

c. Into a bath or shower

d. To and from the floor, and

e. Horizontal lifting (all subject to the correct slings).

This particular hoist is 200mm (8 inches in old money) higher to the slingbar than the Oxford or Molift. For more information please click here

We now have three mobile hoists with the Golvo reaching higher, being able to lift from the floor and horizontal lifting. Maximum weight is 200kg (31.5 stone) versus 150kg (23.62 stone) of the Molift.
